Tube & fitting TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ScaffFest 2027 · Participation terms
Application and category
These terms cover an application to the ScaffFest 2027 Tube & fitting category at NAEC Stoneleigh. Submitting an application does not confirm a place. Entry is confirmed separately by the organising team after eligibility and availability checks. The category has 20 team places and runs on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July 2027. All teams enter the opening round; the four fastest qualifying teams progress to the semi-finals, and two progress to the final. Rankings use completion time adjusted for penalties, with safety and compliance checks. The opening design is shared in advance; later-round designs are issued at the relevant briefing.
Team of six
Each team has one captain and five active scaffolders. One of the five is the designated deck/materials operative. The captain plans the work, oversees the team and is the routine contact for the referee; the captain does not build or handle materials unless an injury substitution is approved. A qualified first aider must be available immediately outside the active arena during the round; this may be an additional support person.
Eligibility and checks
All six team members must be at least 18 when competing. Each member must hold current scaffolding qualifications appropriate to their role, including recognised international equivalents, and appropriate working-at-height training. Team details must be confirmed before registration closes. Participants must present photographic identification and qualification evidence at event registration. Any reserve or substitution needs organiser/referee approval; a team reduced below three active scaffolders cannot continue.
Equipment and safe participation
Use only the tube and fitting scaffolding components supplied or approved for this arena and follow the issued design, briefing and safe assembly/dismantling instructions. Wear the approved helmet, harness/fall protection where required, safety footwear, gloves, eye protection and high-visibility clothing, with secured tools at height. Use approved hand tools only; powered/impact tools, running and throwing components are prohibited. Do not enter until the required safety inspection is passed.
Fitness and conduct
Participants must be fit to take part safely, free from alcohol/drug impairment and comply with the event’s pre-round checks. Anyone may raise an immediate safety concern. Referees may stop work, apply published time penalties, remove a participant or disqualify a team for unsafe work, cheating or abusive conduct. The captain receives the recorded time and penalties and must raise scoring queries within five minutes of the round ending, before signing the scoring record. The Head Referee decides competition scoring disputes; this does not remove legal rights.
Insurance and risk
The team or its company must provide evidence of suitable health/accident insurance covering competition activities. Each participant must complete the event’s required safety and risk acknowledgement before competing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Information and contact
The person applying confirms they are authorised to submit the team details and will share the participation requirements with every member. Application information is used to assess and manage participation as described in the website privacy notice. Applying does not subscribe anyone to marketing. Contact: info@scafffest.com.
Changes to arrangements
The ScaffFest organising team may make reasonable changes for safety, legal compliance, weather, equipment availability or essential operational reasons. Changes will be communicated to affected captains promptly; urgent safety instructions may take effect immediately at the arena. Material changes to agreed participation requirements will be explained before competition and affected teams may withdraw if they cannot accept them. Changes will not retrospectively alter completed-round results, except to correct a documented scoring error or apply the published appeal procedure.
